Poet, critic and translator

An Iranian poet, critic and translator. She was for two years a guest of the International Cities of Refuge Network (ICORN) in Italy and now lives in Washington DC. She has published eleven books, including eight poetry books, and her poem ‘Chãk’ won the 2015 Jovellanos International Poetry Prize. Her works are banned in Iran. She speaks internationally at events such Day of the Imprisoned Writer on issues of freedom of speech, resistance poetry and women’s writing.
