The Review
Events: WritersMosaic Live Events
The first edition of The Review, a collaboration between WritersMosaic and the Jhalak Foundation was launched in London on 25 April. Over twenty pages of commissioned reviews and features by writers of the global majority in the UK, the new magazine focuses on books by writers of the global majority. At the heart of this exciting project is a determination to shine a spotlight on these books, and to ensure that the rigour of the review writing will be matched by the quality of the editing.
The Review is edited and curated by the novelist Guy Gunaratne with support from a team of genre-specific curators. For this issue, they include Irenosen Okojie (Fiction), Will Harris (Poetry), Colin Grant (Non-fiction), Kiran Millwood Hargrave and Margaret Sturton (Children and Young Adults) and Sarah Shaffi (Forthcoming Titles).
The Review was designed by the writer, director, and artist Michael Salu, founder of the creative practice House of Thought.
Many of the reviewers attended the launch together with our partners at the Jhalak Foundation and The Bookseller. It was a blast!
