WritersMosaic’s retreat in Italy, a collaboration with the Hawthornden Foundation, gets underway

Featured event: WritersMosaic Live Events

WritersMosaic, in collaboration with the Hawthornden Foundation, chose writers for a retreat at Villa Lugara, Italy. The successful writers – Zebib K. Abraham, Jo Clement, Ming Ho, Nicole-Rachelle Moore, Vanessa Kisuule and Damian Le Bas – have had their heads down with work-in-progress.

Villa Lugara, a sixteenth century casa canonica, or church farmhouse, is situated at the foothills of the Apennine Mountains in Emilia Romagna and is surrounded by oak woods which lead to an ancient pathway for pilgrims. A sympathetically restored ruin, Villa Lugara offers a retreat from the fast pace of modern life.

As well as focusing on their own writing, the writers shared their work with an eager audience at the international library in Parma.
