Dramaturg
Burt Caesar is an actor, broadcaster, writer and director for stage, television and film. He has worked as an Associate Director at the Royal Court theatre, and his stage performances include numerous roles in Shakespeare tragedies such as Gloucester in King Lear at the Globe, and new plays such as Caryl Churchill’s Serious Money in London’s West End and on Broadway. Caesar has performed in several features for BBC radio, including Derek Walcott’s The Schooner Flight and the serialisation of Monique Roffey’s The Mermaid of Black Conch. He has also written and presented landmark BBC radio documentaries such as Caribbean Voices, What We Leave We Carry: The Legacy of John La Rose, To Sir, With Love Revisited, and Black Students in Red Russia. Caesar is an artistic adviser at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), and for the permanent gallery ‘London Sugar & Slavery’ at Museum of London Docklands.
