Novelist
Tice Cin is an interdisciplinary artist from north London and a founding member of Design Yourself, a collective exploring what it means to be human when technology is changing everything. Her novel Keeping the House (2021) won the Somerset Maugham Prize, was shortlisted for Book of the Year at the British Book Awards and was named one of The Guardian’s Best Books of 2021, as well as being featured in The Scotsman, The New York Times and the Washington Post. A DJ and music producer, Tice is preparing to release an accompanying album for Keeping the House featuring artists from the creative house she is part of, Fwrdmtn, including Kareem Parkins-Brown and Latekid. A filmmaker, she is currently writing and co-directing three short films and has just produced and directed her first music video. She was named one of Complex Magazine’s best music journalists of 2021 and 2022 and has been widely commissioned as an artist, including by Cartier, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
