Maryam Firuzi (b. 1986) is a Tehran-based artist and filmmaker with a BA and MA in Cinema from the University of Tehran’s Faculty of Art. She has twice been awarded the Peace Medal of the Global Peace Photo Award (2018 & 2022) and was named People Photographer of the Year by IPA in 2024. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at La Gacilly Photo Festival (France, Austria), the Daegu Photo Biennial (South Korea), and the IWPA Award, which she won in 2022. Her artistic practice reflects on cultural tension, gender, and identity in contemporary Iran.
