Just out: Patient Dignity

Patient Dignity (Scotland Street Press), a new collection of poems by WritersMosaic‘s Bashabi Fraser, is a transnational, collaborative response to the pandemic experience. The book is dedicated to the ‘staff working on the frontline, risking their lives to save patients at the National Health Service and in care homes.’ Fraser says she was struck and inspired to write Patient Dignity by the lines of villagers returning home at the beginning of lockdown restrictions in 2020. She was reminded of the lines of refugees during the 1948 Partition period of India’s history. The global experience of separation, a kind of partition, whether forced or voluntary, has marked millions of lives since the outbreak of the pandemic. Fraser’s evocative poems are complemented by fine paintings by Vibha Pankaj.
