WritersMosaic launches with a discussion on the poetry of naming

WritersMosaic launches with reflections on finding your own voice.
5th May 2021

Poets Daljit Nagra, Hannah Lowe, John Siddique and Bonnie Greer launched WritersMosaic with a conversation on the poetry of naming. What is it to be labelled a ‘black woman writer’ when the label sends readers to the wrong place and stifles your individual voice? How do you find your own path and speak in your own voice? In collaboration with the Lakeside Arts Centre and Nottingham Unesco City of Literature, four very different writers brought the In Conversation series of events to life with accounts of their journeys to becoming themselves. The event was hosted by Daljit Nagra, Chair of the Royal Society of Literature.
