Novels with twins vie for the Women’s Prize for Fiction
The Women’s Prize for Fiction, the annual award for an “outstanding, ambitious [and] original” novel by a woman, features two books whose protagonists are twins. Brit Bennett’s psychologically complex novel, The Vanishing Half, focuses on African American identical twin sisters, one of whom secretly “passes” for white. And among the other five shortlisted novels is Claire Fuller’s Unsettled Ground whose main characters are middle-aged twins who have grown up in rural southern England. The winner of the prize will be announced on 7 July.
